Watch for a new blog post any day now - but in the meantime, enjoy our short video honoring the Book Babes, our team at the Des Plaines Relay for Life. The Book Babes raised over $9,000 in the fight against cancer this year and, well, we're just awfully proud of them. More to come! The video is just down below. Enjoy.
Wow, that was really beautiful. Thank you! ~Veronica
ReplyDeleteAmazing! The Book Babes should be very proud!! ~Michelle
ReplyDeleteBeware of some of these seemingly 'good' causes. The abortion industry provides a lot of $$ to the Cancer industry. Even though there has been shown to be a clear link between breast cancer and abortion, the American Cancer Society somehow continues to deny the fact that there is a link. Glad to see we have an open formum here.
ReplyDeleteWe do welcome all opinions and points of view here. Both the American Cancer Society and the National Cancer Institute (part of the United States' government National Institutes of Health) have done extensive research in the area of relating abortion to breast cancer and have yet to find the "clear link" you describe. Regardless, the Relay for Life provides funds for cancer research, all types of cancer research, regardless of the cause. For people like me, who have lost friends to this relentless and cruel disease, this type of research seems like a win-win proposition.
ReplyDeleteVery true that cancer is a terrible problem. However, I would strongly dispute that there is not a clear link between breast cancer and abortion and that the American Cancer Society seems to cover it up because of the money trail. Here are sites to look at: http://www.abortionbreastcancer.com/abc.html

Many other sites talk about the facts also.
It offends me deeply that someone would disparage the hard work of volunteers from all over the country in trying to stop the spread of cancer and find a cure by linking cancer to abortions. People choose to have abortions, nobody chooses to have cancer. There are many types of cancer, not just breast cancer. It's so depressing that someone would take the time to make cancer research look like a negative thing, while we watch our loved ones suffer and die from it. This story wasn't about abortion, it was about successful volunteers giving of their time and talent. Please stick to the subject.
ReplyDeleteMy opinion is that the cure for cancer will be found by someone in the private sector as is usually the case. All one needs to do is look at the Chicago public schools to see how government money is wasted. There should be no surprise that private schools outperform public schools. I don't know if there is a link between abortion and breast cancer or not, but I do wish a private organization would do some research then we might get somewhere with all this money spent!! We need someone like a Jonas Salk - someone who isn't in it for the money, just eager to find the cure.
