PlainTalk Prize Patrol Visits Bob!

So, you thought I was bluffing when I said that I had some prizes for the person who commented on either a book they read while waiting at the airport or an iPod playlist, eh? THINK AGAIN. Your Web Services Librarian keeps her promises. On that note, watch our latest video, in which the PlainTalk Prize Patrol visits lucky winner, Adult Services Librarian Bob Blanchard. Want to win the next time? Then add your comments to our PlainTalk blog!

  1. Well, hey, if there's prizes involved, here's the playlist I listen to on the train when I run out of Wait Wait and Car Talk:

You're Pitiful - Weird Al Yankovic
    Eleven Saints - Jason Webley
The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny - Lemon Demon
    Haliotis K - Kate Haliotis
Happy Boy - The Beat Farmers
No, I Don't Wanna Do Dat - The Happy Schnapps Combo
Mr. Green Genes - Frank Zappa
The Naked Mole Rap - Will Friedle & Nancy Cartwright
New Year's Prayer - Jeff Buckley
Off To Seek My Fortune - David Dunne
Cover Of The Rolling Stone - Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show
    Manic Mechanic - ZZ Top
    Zomby Woof - Frank Zappa
    Florentine Pogen - Frank Zappa
Don't Call Us, We'll Call You - Sugarloaf & Jerry Corbetta
Puttin' On The Ritz - Taco
I'm Not From Here - James McMurtry
Particle Man - They Might Be Giants
Istanbul (Not Constantinople) - They Might Be Giants
I've Seen All Good People/Your Move - Yes

Greetings to all the good folk at DPPL.

  2. That is a FABULOUS video! And congrats to Bob!

PS- John, I love that your playlist includes a song from Kim Possible. Naked mole rats rule.

  3. Thanks. I call the playlist Off-Beat. I believe that sums it up. It's joined on my iPod by such illustrious lists as High Energy (Low IQ?) and Try This. Also Appalachian Spring and Bach's Cantata 140 "Wachet Auf". Don't ask me how that works with Kim Possible and Lemon Demon. It just does.
